Extend Strong Authentication, SSO, and IdM Services to Postini Services from Your Directory

Google Postini Services are based on a real-time, pass-through architecture that works with web and cloud-based email systems to stop spam, viruses, phishing, denial of service, and other attacks before they reach your network. Unfortunately, many legitimate emails become casualties of spam filters, which tasks users with the responsibility of checking those filters, with greatly varying results. What’s more, administrators are required to periodically log on to users’ accounts to perform maintenance or troubleshoot problems.

To improve these processes, I.T. organizations need to implement single sign-on (SSO) and two-factor authentication for Postini’s quarantined messages while still maintaining control of their own user identities and authentication methods. Postini supports this capability through the use of the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) protocol for authentication control. However, using SAML can be expensive and can require changes to your environment that leave you with a high-maintenance proprietary solution.

SecureAuth IdP turns your organization into an identity provider, enabling you to:

  • Implement single sign-on (SSO) and strong, two-factor authentication for Google Postini Services applications as well as other cloud, web, mobile, and virtual private network (VPN) resources
  • Work with a single, flexible solution that offers integrated strong authentication, SSO, access and user management services all in one
  • Maintain control of user identities and authentication methodology using the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) protocol without the housekeeping overhead.
