Healthcare digital transformation (DX) can no longer be ignored. IDC forecasts worldwide spend on DX to reach new heights at a CAGR of 17.9% through 2021 to more than $2.1 trillion. Healthcare organizations must be "future-ready" for the age of the digital patient in an industry that has traditionally, and admittedly, lagged behind others in the adoption of digital technology. Leaders recognize the deep transformative and experiential qualities of the DX journey as well as the potential it holds for impact on their organizations. Many questions are being raised and lessons learned as DX strategies are being implemented and new technologies adopted. The key question is how organizations must think about DX to safely and effectively deliver on value, respond to consumerism, improve outcomes; and get digital done.
