SecureAuth Authenticates Trust between Mobile Developers and Amazon Cognito

Enterprises Can Now Easily Integrate their Exiting User Data Store for Secure Access to AWS-powered Apps and Services

IRVINE, Nov. 11, 2014 – Enterprise mobile developers using Amazon Cognito to store and manage user data and apps in the AWS Cloud now have an easy and secure method for leveraging their existing user data stores.  SecureAuth IdP, an award-winning access control solution from SecureAuth Corporation, leverages enterprise identity data stores such as Active Directory to provide secure and flexible single sign-on and multi-factor authentication to AWS-powered applications and resources.  IdP, the first OpenID Connect (OIDC) compatible provider for Amazon Cognito, is being showcased in a technology preview this week.

“When building an enterprise mobile app with Amazon Cognito, developers want an easy and proven method for integrating identities from existing data stores and ensuring secure access controls are in place,” commented spokesperson, title at Amazon. “We’re excited to have this integration from SecureAuth and we believe AWS customers will too because of its ease of deployment and the frictionless yet secure authentication it provides users. One authenticated identity can be used across all enterprise applications which delivers an overall better user experience.”

The integration between SecureAuth IdP and Amazon Cognito allows Active Directory users, for example, to be registered and provisioned in Amazon Cognito, providing a real-time push of user identities during the authentication process. Additionally, the OpenID Connect (OIDC) based integration with SecureAuth IdP expands enterprises’ authentication scenarios with identity stores in Amazon, Google, and Facebook.

“The secure access control offered by SecureAuth IdP’s combined multi-factor authentication and single sign-on functionality is a differentiator that enterprises value when developing applications, especially for their mobile users,” commented Keith Graham, Chief Technology Officer at SecureAuth. “We’re excited to be working closely with Amazon Cognito and to support their OIDC workflow with more secure and trusted access.”

Amazon and SecureAuth will present a demonstration of the workflow in several sessions during AWS re:Invent taking place November 11 – 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Read more information about SecureAuth IdP workflow for Amazon Cognito.

SecureAuth IdP is also available on AWS Marketplace, which offers organizations an easy way to find, buy, and immediately start using software and services that run on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In addition to a multitude of two-factor authentication methods, SecureAuth IdP enables organizations that use common access cards (CAC) and personal identification verification (PIV) cards to quickly and easily incorporate on-demand, authenticated identity access services to AWS Management Console.
