For the Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023, that marks the 20th anniversary of the campaign, two out of the four themes are focused on credential related best practices. There is a good reason for that. With over 80% of cyberattacks occurring at the credential level, it has become the weakest link and the easiest target for the bad actors. Since SecureAuth is committed to frictionless and secure authentication, we have shared best practices through various forums and wanted to share insights here from a recent survey.

Some Key findings include:

  1. Only 44% of the companies are confident about traditional MFAs protecting against cyberattacks
  2.  61% of users don’t like friction caused by traditional MFAs
  3. Almost two-thirds of respondents have either adopted passwordless authentication or are planning on rolling out in less than 2 years
