Identity is the New Edge

The University of New Hampshire selected SecureAuth’s access management solution to provide their over 26,000 users a secure unified user experience, reducing their time-to-live from a few months to a few weeks.

The Problem

University of New Hampshire wanted to provide a secure, unified experience for all users which included students, faculty, and staff globally. This meant reducing password requirements by deploying single sign-on (SSO). Requirements included support multiple access management protocols, support for user provided devices, and adaptive authentication with geo-velocity.

The Solution

Before purchasing the SecureAuth Identity Platform, the University of New Hampshire evaluated SecureAuth against Okta, Ping, and One Login. “Ultimately, we chose SecureAuth because of the flexibility of the platform. We need both a cloud and on premise solution,” explained Matt, the IAM Program Manager at University of New Hampshire (UNH). The platform did not interfere with other solutions in place at UNH. “Competing solutions would require partial replacement of parts of our IDM platform. We have to take all comers when it comes to authenticating applications. A strength of SecureAuth is the protocol options. It enabled us to be least disruptive to our business partners,” says Matt.

UNH has been using SecureAuth for three years and has standardized their platform. Using the SecureAuth solution they have grown to 65 SaaS Applications being supported.

“We have been using the Identity Platform for three years now and would absolutely refer somebody to use SecureAuth, definitely,” concludes Matt.

Founded in 1866, the University of New Hampshire is higher education research university and home to 15,000 students, over 130,000 alumni, and 11,000 faculty and staff. U.S. News & World Report announced UNH as one of the 50 best public universities in the United States. UNH boasts 11 schools and colleges offering 200 programs in more than 100 major fields of study.
